The UN-Habitat, United Nations Human Settlements Programme is providing the opportunity for internships at its Fukuoka Office location. Currently, internships are not available within the context of field projects unless with special permission by UN-HABITAT headquarters.

Candidates for Internships MUST
- Apply online at www.unon.org or direct to UN-HABITAT ROAP.
- Forward letters from your academic institutions confirming when you will complete your degree. Note: To be eligible, the potential intern has to be currently enrolled in their third year or fourth year of undergraduate studies, pursuing a masters or PHD and need to be enrolled throughout the period of internship.
- Obtain an endorsement from the Nominating/Sponsoring Institution. The intern or sponsoring Government or institution bears all costs connected with the internship such as costs and arrangements for travel, visa, accommodation, transportation, medical, insurance, living expenses, etc. The intern is also responsible for all necessary arrangement regarding visas and other documents that are needed for his/her stay.
- Provide proof of valid major medical insurance coverage and medical certificate of good health.
- Be willing to intern on a Full-Time basis spending five days a week usually for a period of not less than THREE MONTHS and not exceeding SIX MONTHS, and adhere to the office working hours.
- Fluent in English (Working knowledge of another UN language or Japanese an asset)
Other important note:
- •The intern is not eligible to apply or appointed to any posts in the UN during the period of the internship or for the 6 months immediately following the expiration thereof.
- •Interns are considered gratis personnel and not staff members.
- •Interns should be supervised by the UN staff members, not consultants or other personnel contracted to specific programmes/projects.

Please note that the intern WILL NOT BE REMUNERATED by the UN. Transportation to and from the UN must be borne by the candidate or his/her sponsoring institution. Also, there is NO EXPECTANCY OF EMPLOYMENT at the end of the internship.
