The process of compiling the "Environmental Profile of Hailin City" was carried out by organizing different local departments and experts to collect, analyse and consolidate the environmental resource data of the city, summarising the major environmental issues regarding land, water, and air resources; waste management, ecological systems, and historical cultural heritage. The Profile also analysed the current environmental management structure and identified the key stakeholders to better define strategies and action plans to improve urban and environmental management. Dissemination of the profile during the City Consultation served to raise awareness amongst all key stakeholders, which triggered broad political and public support to promote and further develop innovative Environmental Planning and Management in the city.
