The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-HABITAT, is the United
Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General
Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable town and cities
with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all.

Located at the crossroad of this vast and
diverse region, the UN-HABITAT Fukuoka Office is the regional
office for Asia and the Pacific of UN-HABITAT. The role of
the office is multifaceted, reflecting the goals of UN-HABITAT
in the effective implementation of the Habitat Agenda.
